Walking tour in the "Old City"

This is an old residential quarter in the center of Baku, surrounded by fortress walls with the famous Maiden Tower. Dozens of historical monuments are located on the territory of the old city: the Market Square, mosques, caravanserais, bathhouses, apartment houses and the palace complex of Shirvanshahs - the pearl of Azerbaijani architecture.

Shirvanshahs Palace

The former residence of the Shirvanshahs (rulers of Shirvan), located in the capital of Azerbaijan, the city of Baku. The palace complex was built in the period from the XIII to the XVI century.

Maiden's Tower

The most majestic and most mysterious monument of Baku is Giz Galasi - the Maiden Tower, towering in the south-eastern part of the fortress of Icheri Sheher. In 1964 the Maiden Tower became a museum, and since 2000 it has been included in the list of UNESCO monuments.

Juma Mosque

Friday mosque for the common prayer of the Muslim community at noon on Friday. The mosque was built in the old city (Icheri-Shekher), with the money of the Baku patron of art Haji Shihali Dadashev.
